45-year-old driver arrested for suspended driving

Members of the Kowloon East Regional Traffic Task Force of the police conducted an operation to crack down on suspension driving in the area at around 11:00 am today (16), by intercepting suspicious vehicles. During the operation, police officers stopped and checked a suspicious-looking light truck on Kwun Tong Road near Kang Tak Road. Upon investigation, a 45-year-old local driver surnamed Cai was suspected of “driving while the license was suspended” and Arrested “driving without Civil Liability Insurance”. The male driver is currently being held for investigation.

Police reiterated that “driving while your license is suspended” and “driving without third party insurance” are serious offences. If convicted of the two offenses, each is liable to a $10,000 fine and 12 months’ imprisonment. Police will continue to step up law enforcement to crack down on related crimes and appeal to motorists not to break the law.
