42 new cases of Covid-19 have been approved in Estonia; three dead – in the world

In Estonia, 42 people were diagnosed with the new coronavir virus last day, as well as three new deaths were recorded with Covid-19, the Health Department said on Tuesday.

As a result, the number of confirmed infections in Estonia has reached 4,127, and recovery has been confirmed for 2,439 people.

A total of 245,036 tests have been performed in Estonia to detect infection with the new coronavirus.

1706 analyzes were performed in the previous day, thus 2.5% of all analyzes were positive.

Of the 42 newly detected cases, in 13 cases the infection occurred in contact with known persons who had previously been diagnosed with the virus, in one case the infected person returned from Russia, but for the remaining cases it is not yet known where the infection may have occurred.

A 95-year-old woman and a 94-year-old man died in Covid-19 East Viru County Hospital last day with a disease caused by the new coronavirus. The previous 24-hour statistics also include a 64-year-old man who died in this hospital on October 15, because only now have doctors determined that the cause of his death was Covid-19. As a result, the total number of deaths from the disease in Estonia has risen to 71.

According to the Estonian Department of Health, the 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population on October 20 in Estonia is 35.29.
