The number of coronavirus infections in the municipality of Groningen has increased with 49 infections since Thursday morning. This is evident from the latest figures from the RIVM, which were published on Friday afternoon. Another 65 new infections were diagnosed in the rest of the province.
In the Ommelanden, the GGD found the most infections in the municipality of Stadskanaal (15). One resident of the municipality of Deflzijl was hospitalized because of COVID-19. A resident of the municipality of Stadskanaal and a resident of the municipality of Appingedam died from the effects of the virus.

In the whole of the Netherlands, 11,141 new infections were diagnosed, 900 more than yesterday. Nationally, 297 more new patients were hospitalized.
87 COVID patients who died were reported to RIVM. Not all of these deaths occurred in the past twenty-four hours.
