400 trucks of mud have been removed from the pond, which is on the World Heritage List!

Pamukkale Municipality started cleaning work at Kocaçukur Pond under travertines in Beyaz Cennet Pamukkale.

Permission was obtained from the Aydın Regional Conservation Board and the Natural Heritage Conservation Board for cleaning the pond, which is 20 thousand square meters in size.

During the works carried out in the pond, which was last cleaned in 2009 and consists of water from travertines, more than 400 trucks of mud were removed.

When the water in the pond was drained, the ducks, geese and fish in the pond were taken to a different pond. At the end of the studies that lasted about 1 week, the change in the pond in Kocaçukur was also reflected in the images.

While the color of the pond looks quite dark due to the sludge that has formed before, the water turned its natural color after cleaning.
