Last day, four new cases of Covid-19 were registered in Latvia, according to the data compiled by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control (SPKC).
A total of 237,477 examinations were performed in Latvia, of which 1,180 were performed on Saturday.
The information available to the SPKC indicates that the two patients are contact persons with already infected people, but contacts have been initiated with two persons to clarify additional information.
Of the new infections detected last day, two were registered in Jūrmala, one in Rīga, but another in one of the municipalities where the number of cases does not exceed the limit of five cases and therefore the exact number of infected is not detected.
As a result, the number of people with Covid-19 in Riga has increased to 81, but in Jurmala – to 7 people.
Two of the new infections are between the ages of 40 and 49, but one is also a child under the age of nine and one person between the ages of 30 and 39.
So far, 1,337 persons have become ill in Latvia and 1,093 or 81.75% have recovered, while 33 have died, which is 2.46% of all detected cases.
One patient was also hospitalized last day. In total, four patients are currently being treated in hospitals, all with moderate disease. 202 patients were discharged from the hospital, including those who had recovered and those who had died.
