39 lakh has not been paid Sunny Leone | Cheating Charges | Crime News | Breaking News

Kochi: The High Court has directed that Bollywood actress Sunny Leone and others should not be arrested in the case of cheating for money by promising to stage shows in Kerala and abroad. The High Court also directed that the investigating officer should give notice if he wants to be questioned. However, Sunny Leone told the court on bail that she had not been paid Rs 39 lakh and that things were going awry.

Actress Sunny Leone (Karanjit Kaur Vora), husband Daniel Webber and employee Sunil Rajani had filed an anticipatory bail application in the High Court in a case filed by Shias Kunjumuhammed, a resident of Perumbavoor, alleging that he had paid Rs 39 lakh on the promise of a stage show but had violated the contract by not performing on stage. An interim request was also made not to arrest the three. The court order followed.

Shias complained to the DGP that Sunny Leone had withdrawn from the event on Valentine’s Day 2019 after receiving money through the manager several times since 2016. The crime branch then questioned three people, including Sunny Leone, earlier this month. Sunny Leone and her husband were US citizens, Sun City Media and Entertainment owned the company and Sunil Rajani was an employee.

From bail

Sunny Leone’s anticipatory bail application states that Dadu Oshma had approached Oshma Club for a show in Kozhikode on May 11, 2018 for Rs 30 lakh for Rs 69 and paid Rs 15 lakh in advance on February 14, 2018. A week before the show, it was agreed that the remaining 50% would be paid. However, he later said that the show would be postponed to April 27 due to weather conditions. It agreed. However, the organizers again demanded that the show be shifted to Thiruvananthapuram on May 26 in view of the rains. This was also admitted. On social media accounts, as requested, the organizers were trusted and announced about the show.

Meanwhile, on April 27, 2018, Shias Kunjumuhammed approached me via WhatsApp saying that he is the Chief Coordinator of the Sunny Leone Show which is being held in Thiruvananthapuram and Bahrain. But several times the organizers changed the date and venue of the show. Meanwhile, in December 2018, he was given Rs 5 lakh. Finally, it was agreed to hold the show on February 14, 2019 in Kochi. They did not pay the previously agreed Rs 30 lakh and GST but also announced the Valentine show on their social media.

12.70 lakh including GST was agreed to be paid on January 31, 2019. But on February 12, Sunil announced that the show was being canceled due to Shias not paying despite repeated requests. He then paid Rs 5 lakh on February 13. According to the bail application, he reached Kochi on the 14th thinking that he would pay the rest of the money, but tried to force himself to attend the show and cheat without paying the contract amount.

Rs 39 lakh has not been paid. Things are twisting. False allegations are being made using political influence and high connections. The petition said the crime branch had no jurisdiction to investigate the case and could not be charged with criminal offenses such as breach of trust and fraud in a civil case. The bail application also states that he has demanded compensation of Rs 2 crore for the complaint.
