All classes are currently running online. The mayor of the historic city and tourist resort calls on students to adhere to the strict 14-day quarantine measures. “It is for their own well-being and that of all Bruges residents,” he says. “We will absolutely not tolerate violations.”

The College of Europe is the oldest postgraduate, international institute offering specialized studies of European Affairs in English and French. After the collapse of the communist Eastern Bloc, a campus was also established in Warsaw. Former EU foreign chief Federica Mogherini has been rector this year. The college has produced many future leaders, including Denmark’s (now former) Prime Ministers Helle Thorning-Schmidt and Finland Alexander Stubb, and British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg.
