When she goes to the dentist, Rebecca Dalton suffers from a simple toothache, of which the specialist quickly finds the cause: a small abscess that has developed in her upper wisdom tooth. It is therefore necessary to remove the latter but to wait until the operation, the 35-year-old woman receives antibiotics.
Pregnant at the time of the facts, Rebecca sees the procedure delayed to avoid complications. Also, when she finishes the box of antibiotics, the 30-something feels better and believes the infection has been treated. If she does not think about it for a long time, her health suddenly deteriorated last March. As The Sun explains, his personality has completely changed without his family being able to explain the reason. “It’s as if my memory had just faded,” she told the British media. “I was so confused that I looked at people without knowing who they were.”
Diminished, she no longer remembers anything. Taken urgently to the hospital in the midst of the coronavirus, Rebecca underwent several examinations which revealed abscesses on her heart, liver and brain. The growth put such strain on his brain that his personality, cognitive abilities, and bodily functions were affected. After further examinations, experts found that the bacteria in his brain were the same as the bacteria in his tooth abscess.
After several months of struggle, Rebecca was able to go out last Tuesday and be reunited with her family. “It was a life changing experience. At 35, you don’t expect to have caregivers every morning watching you take your pills. It was really, really difficult. It gave me a different outlook on life. Something this simple could cost you your life. “
Rebecca must now continue her convalescence at home, surrounded by her relatives.
