EIRORADIO opening of the new concert season live from Riga Dome with the 30th anniversary of the vocal symphonic music program Eternal Light celebrates the youth choir “While …”.

It is a pleasure that one of the leading Latvian choirs has heard not only Latvian Radio 3 “Klasika”, but also Lithuanian and Estonian listeners at the time of performance, while later the recording will be broadcast in Germany and Croatia. The multipoint encoded in the name of the choir – while we are young, meanwhile everything is possible and achievable, focuses on the involvement of stage skills and cooperation partners. This is also confirmed by the program, the author and artistic director of which is the conductor Aivis Greters.

In the concert center – Jēkabs Jančevska new work “How to tell a song” with the poetry lines of Knut Skujenieks, which has become a special dedication to the “While …” anniversary and in this concert will experience the world premiere.

The concert will be opened by the cantata of the composer Peter Bhutan, who passed away this summer Eternal Light, in which the presence of eternal light is revealed through the texts of the canonical Mass, the Old Testament psalm and the poetry of Aspasia, but concludes the work of the choir of Richard Dubra Silence, Love and Light. Its title contains the words of Mother Teresa about the silence of the moment of contemplation, the radiant power of love and the eternal light.

A chamber orchestra participates in the concert Sinfonietta Riga, with which the choir “While …” has a long – term partnership.
