Tonight airs (21.37, Italy 1) «300», film directed in 2007 by Zack Snyder, film adaptation of the homonymous graphic novel by Frank Miller. The film, shot with “chroma key” digital technology to reproduce the original comic style, tells the battle of Thermopylae between Spartans and Persians in 480 BC. Despite the incredible numerical disparity, the 300 brave soldiers led by King Leonidas, played by Gerard Butler, then unknown, managed to keep Asian enemies in check in the narrow throat of Thermopylae and, resisting heroically, allowed the Greek army to regroup. Although the colossal has attracted many criticisms both for the narrative deficiencies (on the one hand there are the good ones and on the other the bad, monstrous, ruthless and lustful barbarians) and for the numerous historical blunders and the accusations of racism (Iran led at the time by President Ahmadinejad he claims that with this film “Hollywood declared war in Tehran”), the success at the box office is incredible. Costing $ 65 million, the film cashes in 456 and turns the protagonist Gerard Butler into a Hollywood star. Waiting for the airing, here are 10 things you may not know.
