30 years Frankfurt-New York: important United Airlines flight connection celebrates anniversary

United’s flight UA 961 currently takes off from Frankfurt at 11:05 a.m. and lands after 8:10 hours at Newark Liberty International Airport at 1:15 p.m. local time. On the way back, the departure from New York / Newark is at 7:40 p.m. with landing in Frankfurt the next morning at 9:10 a.m. A modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner is flown in each case.

“The United flights between Frankfurt and New York represent an important bridge between Europe and the USA. Even during the lockdowns in the Corona crisis, we operated this route continuously, as there was always demand,” explains Thorsten Lettnin, Director Sales Continental Europe, India & West Africa. “We are therefore very happy about the 30th anniversary of this important flight connection, especially since we are currently seeing increasing demand for our entire range of flights from Frankfurt to the USA.”

With its comprehensive flight schedule, United is not only the most important US airline in Frankfurt, but is also one of the largest international airlines at Rhein-Main Airport. United currently flies daily from Frankfurt to New York / Newark, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Denver and Washington, DC. A second daily flight to the US capital will follow in July 2021. The airline offers numerous connections within North America and to Hawaii from all United hubs in the USA.
