29 new cases of Covid-19 in Lithuania last day, in Estonia – 20 / Article / LSM.lv

In Lithuania, on Friday, August 28, 29 new cases of Covid-19 were detected, while in Estonia, the infection was detected in 20 people, the public media of both countries report.

The number of people diagnosed with infection during the day has decreased in Lithuania, as the day before the coronavirus was detected in 48 people, which was the highest number of infections in one day since April, according to LRT.lt information.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2839 cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Lithuania. 86 people have died from complications caused by the virus, but the disease continues in 907 patients.

In Estonia, on the other hand, the most new cases of the disease last day – 13 – were registered in Austrumviru district, reports ERR.ee. A large part of the cases detected in Estonia are still related to a virus outbreak in the oil shale mining shaft “Estonia” in Austrumviru district.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 2363 cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Estonia. To date, 64 Covid-19 patients have died in Estonia.
