“It is up to AstraZeneca itself to make clear what their intentions are with those 29 million doses,” Valdis Dombrovskis, Vice-President of the European Commission, commented at the press conference. “What we can say is that AstraZeneca is far behind its contractual obligations. The company had pledged to deliver 120 million vaccines in the first three months of this year, after that it was already reduced to 30 million, but they are not even yet near.”
