27 players under 20 years of age! These are the top talents in the Bundesliga – BUNDESLIGA

A total of 27 players under the age of 20 have already played in the Bundesliga this season. Dortmund used five youngsters, but only one from Gladbach didn’t miss a minute. SPORT BILD shows the top talents in the Bundesliga!

FC Bayern

Jamal Musiala (18): Bavaria’s offensive all-rounder, who made his breakthrough last season, is currently not getting the chance as hoped, because mostly Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sané occupy the wings. As of 2021/22 in the league only once in the starting line-up, although the national player was directly involved in four goals in just 188 minutes (two goals and two assists each) and was always in the squad. Musiala was never allowed to play over 90 minutes in the cup, the Supercup or the Champions League. Is slowly being built up by trainer Nagelsmann, the contract runs until 2026.

Tanguy Nianzou (19): The French center-back came from Paris on a free transfer in 2020 and played six Bundesliga games last season, all as jokers. In the starting line-up for the first time on the 3rd matchday of this season. So far three appearances in the league.

Florian Wirtz (18): High achievers in the Bayer offensive. Now set after an injury at the beginning of the season. Second best scorer in the league (4 goals, 5 assists).

Piero Hincapié (19): Central defender, came from Argentina at the start of the season for 6.35 million. Last three appearances, on the 7th matchday even in the starting line-up. Goal in the Euro League.

1899 Hoffenheim

Georginio Rutter (19): French, center forward. Came from Rennes in February for only 750,000 euros. Once in the starting eleven, six times joker.

Marco John (19): Plays left in midfield and made 14 league appearances in 2020/21. This season only an appearance on the 1st matchday, most recently no longer in the squad.

1. FC Cologne

Jan Thielmann (19): Right winger, played twelve first division games in 2019/20, last season 24. Four times in the squad, three times in the starting line-up, but without a goal.

Tim Lemperle (19): Like Thielmann winger and from his own youth. In the squad for the first four match days, not for the last three. Three short missions, one goal.

Hertha BSC

Marton Dardai (19): The trainer’s son is a central defender. League debut in November 2020. Always in the starting line-up when he’s fit. Missed three games injured.

Linus Gechter (17): Central defender from his own youth. Twice in the squad, both times substituted (on the 4th and 5th matchday). U18 national team.

VfB Stuttgart

Omer White (18): The Turkish midfielder, brought on free transfer from Fenerbahçe, was twice in the squad and was substituted on late.

Enzo Milot (19): French midfielder, came from Monaco for 1.75 million. Commutes between professionals and amateurs. Two short assignments so far.

Mohamed Sankoh (17): Center forward from the Netherlands, brought from Stoke in 2020 for 150,000 euros. In action for four minutes on matchday one, injured since then.

Sc freiburg

Kevin Damage (19): Winger, with SC since 2018. Always in the squad since matchday two, four appearances, one in the starting line-up. So far without goal participation.

Mainz 05

Paul Nebel (18): Winger, four first division appearances (47 minutes) in 2020/21, twice in the starting line-up this season, but most recently not in the squad.

FC Augsburg

Lasse Günther (18): The left winger came this summer for free from FC Bayern’s U19s. Bundesliga debut last weekend at 1: 2 in Dortmund.
