At the end of September, the Lierse Maatschappij voor de Huisvesting (LMH) expels at least 25 families from Lier, the borough of Koningshooikt and Emblem (Ranst) from their rented homes, because they have property abroad. “They knew since August that this was hanging over their heads,” emphasizes LMH director Marc Vanden Eynde. Flemish Minister of Housing Matthias Diependaele (N-VA) urges all social housing companies to initiate such checks.
