23 Ban on the import of beverages and foodstuffs into school canteens • Al Marsad newspaper

Al-Marsad Newspaper: The Ministry of Education has prevented the supply of 23 drinks and food to school canteens in an effort to improve the preventive health and safety of male and female students and to emphasize the provision of food of nutritional value for the benefit of the students .

Among the items forbidden to import into schools were: soft drinks and energy drinks, milk and yogurt with artificial flavors, fried falafel, chips and boiled over high heat, sticky sugars, composed of dyes, mayonnaise, croissants of all kinds, peanuts for the primary stage and chocolate of all kinds, or the one covered with chocolate, pickles.

The ministry also called on all education departments to provide foods that have nutritional value for the benefit of male and female students, including dates, dried fruit, sandwiches and cakes containing cheese and labneh, honey, butter and chickpeas, and popular dishes i whose main ingredients are cereals, such as wheat and rice. Wheat, corn, milk, hot milk and 100% natural juices, without glass containers.
