Coastal Health District Offers Summer Immunization and Screening Clinics
several counties within the Coastal Health District are providing specialized immunization and screening clinics throughout the summer months. These clinics aim to assist families in meeting school entry requirements before the back-to-school rush. The availability of these services is crucial, as delays in obtaining necessary screenings and vaccinations can postpone a student’s enrollment.
Parents are strongly encouraged to take advantage of these summer opportunities, especially if their child is entering:
- Pre-kindergarten
- Kindergarten
- Seventh grade
- Eleventh grade
Students entering these grades may have specific vaccine or examination prerequisites for school attendance.
Accessibility of Services
While the special clinics offer convenient options, vaccinations and school screenings are routinely available at all Coastal Health District health departments by appointment. It is indeed not mandatory to wait for a scheduled event to access these services. Furthermore, vaccinations do not need to occur in the county of residence. Residents are encouraged to contact neighboring counties if appointment availability is limited in their home county.
For additional data, contact your county’s health department via the Coastal Health District website.
