2022 President’s Cup schedule and standings: Persib and Bhayangkara face the quarter-finals

TEMPO.CO, JakartaFootball competition President’s Cup 2022 in progress. Starting from June 11, this pre-season tournament has entered matchday third.

Currently there are two teams that have qualified for the quarter-finals, namely from Group D which only has four participants. Arema FC already qualified as group winners. Meanwhile, PSM Makassar was the runner-up.

From Group C, which also contains 4 participants, Persib Bandung and Bhayangkara FC are on the verge of qualifying even though they will only meet on Tuesday night, June 21, 2022. Bali United’s 1-0 win over Persebaya Surabaya on Monday night was the cause.

Now Persib is in the first position of the standings, followed by Bhayangkara FC and Bali United. All three teams have a score of 4. Persib and Bhayangkara only need a draw to qualify. However, one team can run aground if it loses heavily in the last match later.

The competition from Groups A and B, which both consisted of five participants, was still exciting.

2022 President’s Cup at a glance

This 2022 President’s Cup is the fifth edition. Tournament to welcome Liga 1 This is back after a vacuum due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019.

The winner of the 2022 President’s Cup will receive a prize of IDR 3 billion. The runner-up team will get IDR 1.5 billion and the third and fourth ranked teams will get IDR 500 million.

A total of 18 participating clubs are divided into four groups, each of which will be held in Samarinda, Solo, Malang, and Bandung. This tournament can be attended by spectators directly, except in Bandung, where the policy was changed after two supporters were killed.
