Unfortunately, this time the U-19 Indonesian National Team failed to beat the U-19 Thailand Team. The match went on to score a goalless draw.
These results add to Shin Tae-yong’s bad record when dealing with the Thailand U-19 national team. Because the 52-year-old tactician has not been able to beat Thailand in various age groups.
Shin Tae-yong also said that the level of competition between Indonesia and Thailand is very different. According to him, if you want to beat Thailand, the level of competition in Indonesia must be addressed first.

Furthermore, Shin Tae-yong said that no one in this world could instantly beat Thailand, when appointed as coach of the Indonesian national team. He then gave an example of how it took Germany 10 years to win the World Cup.
“And it’s also impossible to change the head coach, we immediately win against Thailand or whoever, that’s definitely wrong, Germany alone can win the World Cup, it takes a 10-year project,” he said.
“It is the same with Indonesia, yesterday there was a pandemic as well, but now the league has started and the youth player development system has also started,” he added.
Shin Tae-yong also hopes that the Indonesian U-19 national team supporters will remain patient. Support from supporters is considered very meaningful for the progress of Indonesian football.
