2020 NBA playoffs: schedule and schedules

At last. After a global pandemic and all imaginable difficulties, we already know the official dates of the 2020 first round of playoffs in the NBA.

The postseason will begin on August 17, once the play-in has been settled. in the Western Conference between the Portland Trail Blazers and the Memphis Grizzlies — the Lakers are the only classified team that has no rival yet. The tiebreaker match between eighth and ninth placed on the Pacific side of the map will take place this Saturday. Should a second clash be necessary, of sudden death in that case, the rematch would take place on Sunday.

As the NBA was able to announce, the first round of playoffs – already set pairings – could be extended until August 30 if seventh games are necessary in most series.

The playoff first round pairings have been broken down as follows (below). It should also be remembered that the field advantage does not exist this season since all the games will be played from the NBA bubble in Orlando.

Eastern Conference

  • Milwaukee Bucks (1º) – Orlando Magic (8º)
  • Toronto Raptors (2º) – Brooklyn Nets (7º)
  • Boston Celtics (3º) – Philadelphia 76ers (6º)
  • Miami Heat (4º o 5º) – Indiana Pacers (5º o 4º)

The Heat and the Pacers have yet to determine their final place in the East standings but are already assured of meeting in the first round of the playoffs.

Western Conference

  • Lakers (1st) – play-in winner (Grizzlies o Trail Blazers)
  • Clippers (2º) – Dallas Mavericks (7º)
  • Denver Nuggets (3º) – Utah Jazz (6º)
  • Oklahoma City Thunder (4º o 5º) – Houston Rockets (5º o 4º)

In the same way that happens to Heat and Pacers, Thunder and Rockets are not guaranteed their final place but that they cross is already definitive.

Next, the dates that the League has announced for the entire first round of the 2020 NBA playoffs. Do not forget that all the games can be viewed online live or delayed through NBA League Pass, the official NBA service to watch games on any device.
