The mission of the Organization of American States (OAS) visited Thursday the facilities of the warehouse of the Hills of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) where automated voting equipment and computers for manual voting are stored.
Cristóbal Fernández, who spoke on behalf of the mission, said it was only a preliminary visit to the facilities to review the “kits” of the automated voting teams and that they have already met with various authorities and political forces.
He added that they will be in the country until next Saturday. This visit is part of his work as observers of the municipal elections that will be held on February 16.
In addition to Cristóbal Fernández, head of the Electoral Technical Cooperation Section of the OAS participated in the OAS Advanced Mission; Héctor Hernández, computer specialist.
They were accompanied by the chief information officer of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), Miguel Ángel García, who said they had not had contact with the teams since the primaries on October 6.
