Transfers News from Liverpool: I'm beginning to believe that Lallana becomes Rangers - Ferguson | Football | Sports

Lallana's career in Liverpool has come to a halt after a series of injuries in the last 12 months.

The England international was a key player in Jurgen Klopp's starting eleven, but he's now behind the scenes of Xherdan Shaqiri.

And it has led to reports that Lallana wants to leave Anfield to get regular seasons.

The Rangers were among the clubs associated with the 30-year-old whose contract ends in 2020.

The Gers were active in the transfer market, adding Steven Davis and Jermain Defoe to boost the Scottish Premiership title challenge.

And Ferguson thinks Lallana could be the signature, giving Rangers an advantage in the title race.

He said on PLZ Soccer, "See if there were six six weeks ago?

"I know Defoe was mentioned and obviously Davis, those two signatures have happened, and now I'm starting to believe Adam Lallana.

"I think he is a top player. If the Rangers get it, they have an even better chance of claiming the title of Celtic.

"But he is a top player. If the Rangers can do that, I'll have to give them a handshake. "

Despite Ferguson's hopes, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard downplayed his chances.

Rangers were also associated with Ravel Morrison, and when asked about offers for him and Lallana, Gerrard told stories, "There is no truth either."

While Klopp has confirmed, Lallana will play against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

"Adam trained yesterday and the day before yesterday, so he should get into a fight," said Klopp.

"We have to see, we have to see how he reacts today in the session."
