In the coming months, the local TV channel known to all Lyonnais under the name of TLM should be renamed BFM Lyon or BFM Lyon metropolis. In a decision published on December 28 in the Official Journal, the Higher Audiovisual Council (CSA) has indeed given the go-ahead for the acquisition of
TLM by Altice France, owner of and RMC.

The announcement of this acquisition was made last October. By buying the local Lyons TNT channel, which has been in existence for 30 years, the media group wants to "build a 100% local news channel". "Altice France will rely on its experience in continuous information, thanks to BFMTV, France's leading news channel, and also on BFM Paris," the group said in the fall.

A channel dedicated to local and regional news

Viewers will have access to an information channel entirely dedicated to regional Lyon news and an information loop updated in real time and continuously.

TLM employs twelve people including four journalists. In 2017, the chain, of which about fifteen business owners shared the capital, generated a turnover of 2.15 million euros.
