Swiss court rejected IOC complaint of acquittal in the case of Legkov

The Swiss Federal Court rejected the appeal of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) against the acquittal of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) against Russian skier Alexander Legkov. This is reported on the official website of the IOC.

It is noted that the fact that the complaint was rejected was disappointing to the IOC, the reasons for this decision of the Federal Court of Switzerland were not disclosed.

The IOC Commission, headed by Denis Oswald, found Legkov guilty of violating anti-doping rules during the Olympics in Sochi, where the skier won the gold and silver medals. The IOC deprived Paskov of awards and removed him for life from the Olympic Games, but later CAS abolished the punishment of the athlete. In July 2018, the IOC appealed the CAS decision on Legkov to the Swiss Federal Court.
