Paul Fenton does his first NHL business and it's someone he knows well - The Athletic










Pontus Aberg does not have to go far on Thursday morning to find his new locker room.

After checking in at the hotel in Anaheim Ducks in the Twin Cities on Wednesday, Aberg - a fast-paced, high-level, right-wing wing winger whom Wild General Manager Paul Fenton picked up in the second round of the 2012 Nashville Predators in the Wild against Minor League Center Justin Kloos acted.

It is Fenton's third wilderness trade, but first introduces an NHL player.

Aberg is expected to make his wild debut against his old team on Thursday night.

25-year-old Aberg is in the middle of the best season of his young career. He has reached the second place in the Ducks with eleven goals and eight assists in 37 games.

One of those goals came against Wild when the teams met in Anaheim on 9 November. The Jordan Samuels-Thomas of Athletic has recently struck down his impressive skills here.
