The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is disappointed with the decision of the Court of Sports Arbitration (CAS), which concerns the Russian skier Alexander Legkov, reportsTass.
The court decided to return to the Russian Olympic medals in 2014. The IOC appealed this decision, but it was not adopted.
“We are disappointed with the decision of CAS to reject our appeal of April 23 last year in the case of Russian skier Alexander Legkov. The IOC received the first motivation parts for athletes in April 2018, after which it was decided to appeal the first one.
We thought that even if the chances of final success were low, given the specific circumstances of these cases, it was necessary to appeal anyway to take all possible measures to protect the clean athletes, ”the organization’s press release said.
At the same time, it became known that the IOC would not appeal against the decision of CAS to acquit 27 Russian athletes.
