The detection of a light passenger car, which occurred at 04.56 hours of the morning, this Thursday, July 30, on the National Road 114, in the parish of Santana do Mato, municipality of Coruche, although on the edge of the district of Santarém, it provoked a mortal victim, of the only occupant of the vehicle, a 20 year old man, born in Cortiçada de Lavre, municipality of Montemor-o-Novo.
According to the District Command of Relief Operations for Civil Protection of Santarém, 15 operatives were mobilized for the location, supported by 6 vehicles from the Montemor-o-Novo Volunteer Fire Brigade, the Emergency Medical and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) the Hospital of Espírito Santo, Évora, as well as the patrol of the National Republican Guard of Coruche.
The young man, on arrival at the rescue teams, was in cardiopulmonary arrest, however it was not possible to reverse the situation, being subsequently declared dead by the VMER doctor.
Diogo Clemente, the young man who died was passionate about trucks, a profession he decided to embrace and very dear to the population of Cortiçada de Lavre.
The Criminal Investigation Center for Road Accidents (NICAV) of the National Republican Guard is now investigating the causes of the occurrence.
