Barista Lenin Gutierrez works in a Starbucks café in San Diego, California. Because he recently advised a customer of the obligation to wear a mask for customers and employees, the woman left the restaurant angry. Like Gutierrez CNN says, but returned shortly afterwards, asked for his name and took a picture of the 24-year-old.

She later posted the picture on Facebook and wrote: «Meet Lenen (sic!) From Starbucks, who had refused to serve me because I was not wearing a mask. Next time I’ll wait for the police and bring a medical certificate. »

“It’s just ridiculous”

But instead of getting approval, a real shit storm broke out on Facebook. As one user wrote: «Stop bothering service employees because you refuse to comply with the regulations that employees have to implement.» And another user says: «It’s just ridiculous. He just followed the security guidelines and did his job. If you don’t want to wear a mask, just stop entering shops. »

One of the Facebook users even set up a “GoFundMe” page to collect tips for the 24-year-old. Around 7,500 people donated over $ 100,000 within a week.

Now Guitierrez thanked on Facebook. As the young man says in the video, he wants to invest part in his dancer career, the rest will benefit organizations in the San Diego region.
