20 minutes – NBA hopeful accused of murder

Teshaun Hightower (22), the best Green Wave scorer at Tulane University (NCAA), was arrested on Sunday.

Established New Orleans during the season, the American was charged with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. He was placed in a cell in a carcral establishment in Henry County, Georgia.

The facts of which he is accused took place on April 8 when Devante Anthony Long (24) died of his injuries in hospital. According to the police report, a shooting took place that day in an apartment complex shortly before 11 a.m.

Five other men are suspected of being involved in this sordid affair. Only Jeffrey, the brother of Hightower, has still not been found by the police. The day after the shooting, Hightower posted a message on Twitter saying: God protect my loved ones.

A native of Georgia, Hightower joined Tulane in 2019 after two past seasons with the University of Georgia. On April 18, he announced that he was making himself available for the NBA draft even if he had one year left in the NCAA.

In the 2019-2020 season, he averaged 15.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game.
