All the plans of the American fell into the water, the fault of the coronavirus. Lady Gaga should have released Chromatica, her long-awaited record, on April 10, 2020. She announced on Instagram that it had decided to postpone its publication. After thinking about it, I made the difficult decision to postpone the release of Chromatica. It is such a hectic and frightening time for all of us. Even if I believe that art is one of the strongest things that we have to offer joy and comfort, it did not seem to me wise to swing this album during this pandemic, justified the American of 33 years.
In her long post, the singer, who has not published a solo album since Joanne in 2016, also revealed that she had planned to surprise her fans as part of the release of the cake: I had a Secret concert planned at Coachella (note: Californian festival which was postponed from April to October) and a lot of other fun surprises. I also plan to be able to share some of them with you very soon.
The Mother Monster concluded its message by encouraging its 40 million subscribers to stay at home. When the album comes out, I want us to be able to dance together, sweat together, wap and kiss. In the meantime, let’s all stay at home, urged Lady Gaga.
