“I received an SMS this morning telling me that my package had got stuck,” said Swisscom customer A.K. * on Tuesday. He had expected that one of his open online orders was meant. “I had ordered mobile phone accessories,” says the 30-year-old sales representative.

When he clicked on the hyperlink specified there, the logo of the parcel and letter express service DHL appeared with the request to pay 2 euros. “But then I saw that the package number did not match any of my package numbers and deleted the SMS,” said A.K.
Swisscom customer L.R. * (32) received a similar SMS shortly before the New Year. On behalf of the courier and logistics company Fedex, it was said that their package had been returned. “You now have to pay an additional $ 2.74 fee,” was the request. “I had recently returned a package and first asked myself whether it was the SMS,” says R. The link to it and the request for payment in dollars would have made them suspicious. “That’s why I ignored the SMS.”

Portals warn of the scam. If you click on the link and enter your personal details including credit card number, you will end up in a subscription trap. According to the online warnings.de portal, senders such as TrackInfo, Info13Text, Info42Text, Info 65Text ^, Info75Text, +447851536620 or +43872254636 are suspicious.
Swisscom media spokeswoman Annina Merk says that such or similar spam / phishing SMS messages unfortunately occur again and again. “We recommend that customers delete these messages immediately, do not click on the links and do not provide any PIN or account information.”
