20 minutes – Citroën introduces 24/7 service machines

French car maker Citroën plans to introduce a 24/7 service for customers. In the first half of 2020, the French want to establish the offering at 50 European locations, and 100 such self-check-in stations are to be set up worldwide by the end of the year.

Do you often buy goods from vending machines?

Customers can drop off and pick up their vehicle for general maintenance work around the clock every day of the year at the relevant locations. The customer delivers the key and vehicle registration form to a self-check-in station and receives them there again.

Tried and tested in France

The self-check-in station has already been successfully tested in the French cities of Massy and Marseille. And this is how it works: The customer can hand in his vehicle, including the key and vehicle registration, to the machine. The invoice is paid online. If the vehicle is ready to be picked up again, you will be informed by SMS.

The provider advertises the new service that the customer can take it at any time in a specially provided parking space including key and vehicle registration.

Signs of the times recognized

Other services planned include the collection / return of a replacement vehicle in addition to the return / collection of your own vehicle or the collection / return of a rental car around the clock as part of the short-term rental Citroën Rent & Smile.

With the new offer Citroën wants to respond to the changed customer behavior. “Since our daily routine is closely timed and we want to save as much time as possible, we have developed the service 24/7”, Citroën boss Linda Jackson said in a press release.
