18 Children in Magetan Infected with DHF

MAGETAN, Jawa Pos Radar Madiun – Cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) are unstoppable. So far, 24 patients have been treated. Unfortunately, 18 of the patients were children. ”DHF is the most vulnerable to attack children. Therefore, parents must increase their vigilance,” said Acting Head of the Magetan Health Service (Dinkes), Dr Rohmat Hidayat, Saturday (15/1/2022).

Signs of a spike in dengue cases have been seen since early January. Starting January 5 last, nine cases increased at once. The distribution of dengue cases is also evenly distributed in almost all sub-districts. This indicates that the movement of draining, closing, and burying (3M) is not optimal. ”Even though that’s the key to prevent DHF,” he said.

Rohmat asked residents not to rely on fogging. This is because smoking only kills adult Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Meanwhile eggs and larvae can stay alive and fly. ”Fogging is only done when there are already exposed in an environment. And, it only kills adult mosquitoes.
