178 new corona cases in Hamburg | NDR.de – Nachrichten – Hamburg

According to the authorities, a total of 48,873 people in Hamburg have tested positive for the corona virus since the pandemic began. According to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), around 43,100 of these can now be regarded as recovered.

Incidence increased minimally

The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days has increased slightly compared to the previous day to 67.6. A week ago the value was 69.4.

More corona patients in Hamburg’s clinics

In Hamburg’s hospitals, 328 corona patients are currently being treated, 6 more than last stated. The number of people in intensive care has increased slightly to 74.

Number in homes is declining

Meanwhile, there is good news from the retirement homes: The number of outbreaks goes back there according to the social authority. A month ago there were 660 corona cases among the residents and over 330 cases among the employees – a total of around 1,000. There are now around 350 – only a third. The social authority sees a positive effect of vaccination as the cause of the decline.

10 more deaths

According to the RKI, 1,188 people have died in connection with Covid 19 in the Hanseatic city since the beginning of the pandemic, 10 more than last reported.
