147,000 benefited in postrera: the technological bonus sows hope for Honduran producers

Yoro.- The corn producer, Trinidad Castro Castillo, in the municipality of Santa Rita, department of Yoro, checks his crop which is beginning to flower. The Productive Technological Bonus sows hope for small Honduran producers in contributing to food security in their homes.

Trinidad recognizes the support of the government of President Xiomara Castro, to promote the agricultural sector in the country, directs its gaze towards its milpa and joyfully manifests the good development of its crop, following the inputs it has acquired to cultivate its plot , in the last sowing 2022.

“I appreciate the support of President Castro, in the delivery of inputs to harvest the basic cereals, we have received seeds and fertilizers to cultivate our land, we will get a good production of corn” says the producer.

The BTP is carried out by the Directorate of Agricultural Sciences and Technologies (Dicta), of the Secretariat of Livestock Agriculture (SAG), to contribute to food security and sovereignty, with a greater concentration of poverty in rural areas.

The delivery of the BTPs was carried out en masse in 17 departments of the country by small farmers, some organized in Casse di Credito e Risparmio Rurale (CRAC), with social repercussions and other small individual producers.

With a budget of L 300 million lempiras for semina postrera, plus L 30 million deriving from savings in the transparency of the purchase of production factors and reinvested in the purchase of fertilizers, to date SAG-DICTA has distributed more than 147 thousand bonds which include grain seeds and fertilizers to domestic producers.
