130! Corona incidence is also falling in Saxony | Regional

Dresden – Hope increases, numbers decrease. In Saxony, too, the 7-day incidence fell (new corona infections per 100,000 / week).

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI / Berlin) gave the important incidence value on Thursday morning as 130. The day before, according to the dashboard, it was 141, at the beginning of this week it was 171.

BUT: Nationwide, the value is currently only 98 (as of January 28, midnight), falling below 100 for the first time in weeks.

Saxony still has the fourth highest value in a state comparison. Only Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia (174 each) and Brandeburg (151) reported more new infections in relation to the number of inhabitants.

There are also clear regional differences. Chemnitz is about to drop the limit of 50 planned by politicians for easing, and according to RKI figures only has a 7-day incidence of 62.9. Chemnitz is thus far ahead in Germany. The big city (with more than 500,000 inhabitants) with the best value is e.g. Frankfurt am Main with 64.

Curious: The district of central Saxony, which borders directly on Chemnitz, has the highest 7-day incidence in Saxony (201.9). Dresden with 104 and Leipzig with 105 reported by the RKI (according to information from the Leipzig Health Department, there are 127.2) are meanwhile on the verge of the 100 mark.

According to the RKI overview, 177 121 corona infections have been detected in Saxony since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, which is almost 1200 more than the day before. The number of people who died with or from Corona increased by 88 to 6002 compared to the previous day.
