Use cold water

With baking soda

In the two solutions proposed, once the baking soda is dry, you must remove the excess powder with your vacuum cleaner or a soft bristle brush. If traces remain you can renew the operation before rinsing the area and letting it dry.
Detach delicate laundry

Remove a stubborn blood stain

With an ice cube

But beware, the possible risk with this product is a surface discoloration to which it is applied. To prepare for any eventuality, it is therefore recommended to carry out a test on an area that is little or not visible. On the other hand, it is a very effective solution to overcome a stain of blood on a porous surface such as concrete. To do this :
- Prepare a mixture of water and hydrogen peroxide in equal quantities.
- With a clean cloth, dab this mixture on the stain, making sure not to go deeper than the area to be treated, until the stain has completely disappeared.
- Rinse, then machine wash if you have used this solution on a textile.
With 70° alcohol
If the traces of blood are difficult to remove, you can also soak a clean, dry cloth with70° alcohol and dab the stained area with it.
With ammonia
If the ammonia gives off a very unpleasant and rather suffocating odor, it can overcome the most stubborn stains. To use it, put on household gloves and work with the window open:
- Prepare a mixture of water and ammonia at the rate of half a cup of cold water for a tablespoon of ammonia.
- Apply this mixture to the entire stained area, then rub.
- Once the stain is gone, all you have to do is rinse with cold water.
This solution is not suitable for fragile textiles, such as linen, silk, etc.
With toothpaste
For a textile that can be washed by hand or machine afterwards, you can use toothpaste to clean up the traces of blood. Be sure to take a white toothpaste to avoid staining your textile even more. Here’s how:
- Place a dab of toothpaste on the stain and spread it.
- Wait until the toothpaste is dry.
- Then rinse the area with cold water.
- If traces remain, repeat the operation, then using soapy water.
