11 Tasikmalaya City Residents Died of DHF, Majority of Victims are Children

TASIKMALAYA, iNewsTasikmalaya.id – Eleven people in Tasikmalaya City die world due to dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD). The case of dengue fever in the city nicknamed the City of Santri continues to increase.

From early January to 18 March 2022, cases of dengue fever in the City of Tasikmalaya recorded in public health Office as many as 494 cases.

The Head of the Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Division of the Tasikmalaya City Health Service, Dr. Asep Hendra Hendriana, said that dengue cases were still increasing, although not every day.

Cases of death due to dengue are also high with 11 people from early January to 18 March 2022.

“There are 11 people who died from dengue. The majority of the victims who died were children,” said Asep, Friday (18/3/2022).

According to him, the potential for additional dengue cases is still quite high because it is currently still the rainy season, which has the potential to cause puddles of water which of course become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

“Of the 11 people who died from dengue fever, 2 of them were babies under one year old,” he said.

He said, as long as the level of public awareness to eradicate mosquito nests (PSN) is still low, then the possibility of mosquitoes to continue to breed is still there.
