. The Grafenhausen sports club will be 100 years old on May 23rd of this year. Whether there will be a big birthday party on this day is still in the stars in view of the corona pandemic. At the moment, the exhibition “Drags in Buchenmoos” is being prepared in the Black Forest House of the Senses and is to open on May 16. We are also working at full speed on a commemorative publication in which 100 years of football in Grafenhausen are dealt with. We are also looking for a fictional SVG century elf.
“Dragging in the Buchenmoos”
In an already stocked showcase in the Black Forest House of the Senses, reference is made to the upcoming exhibition “Drags in Buchenmoos – 100 Years of Football in Grafenhausen”, which will be on view from May 16 to September 26. “The entire team under Clemens Rosa has invested a lot of work here,” emphasized SVG Chairman Daniel Stritt in an interview with our newspaper. In view of Corona, it was not easy for the individual teams to discuss and coordinate their subject areas with one another. With the exception of a brief meeting in the exhibition area, all arrangements were made online. The exhibition was divided into different annual periods. This means that visitors can understand 100 years of the club’s history in the various areas. In addition, there are many topics such as Schlchtseestadion, theater group, SVG youth work or SVG people. “For example, one team only dealt with the focus on partnership with Combrit,” explained the chairman. The exhibition not only shows large billboards, but also some trophies, jerseys and balls steeped in history in the showcases. A presentation that will, however, be determined by Corona. Monthly tours through the exhibition are planned as part of the supporting program. However, Daniel Stritt is certain that some of the planned supporting program will be possible between the opening and September. “If nothing works because of the Corona restrictions, a repetition of the exhibition in a shortened time frame would be conceivable next year,” said the SVG boss. What is the title of “Dragging in the Buchenmoos” all about? Just one year after the association was founded, the Grafenhausen community provided the young association with a site in the Gewann Stierbesetze / Buchenmoos. “In around 780 hours of work, the members removed shrubs, stunted fir trees and began leveling the very uneven terrain,” read the commemorative publication that is currently being prepared. We will report in detail on the club history for the 100th anniversary of the SVG, which will be divided into different time periods.
The birthday of the Grafenhausen sports club should not only be celebrated with club members, but with the entire population. As part of the exhibition, there will be podium discussions and lectures as well as a quizz. The questions are of course the focus of 100 years of club history. Anyone who walks through the exhibition in the Black Forest House of the Senses with open eyes should also be able to answer the questions without any problems. “In which year was the club renamed DJK? 1923, 1928 or not until 1932?” The renaming to DJK (Deutsche Jugendkraft) is not only discussed in the exhibition, but also in the new chronicle. So the answer should certainly no longer be a problem.
Century Elf wanted
The Grafenhausen sports club can look back on some sporting successes in its 100th anniversary. So the promotion to the A-Class Black Forest and later District League Black Forest could be made. In the long history of the club there have been many players who have worn the SVG jersey. These were Mittellufer, Torhter, Auenstrmer, Liberos and the so-called “eternal talents”. For the anniversary, those responsible for the club want to know who, in the opinion of the population, were the best eleven players that the SVG has ever produced. Until April 30th, the names of these eleven can be given directly to Kevin Rosa or alternatively submitted via WhatsApp. Addresses as well as the playing field on which the names can be entered are printed on the information sheet. Prizes will be raffled among the entries.
