10 tips to follow to prevent the threat of an emerging coronavirus

The Ministry of Health and its institutions are continuing their awareness-raising messages to prevent corona virus, pointing out that the risk of infection can be reduced by following these tips:

(1) Postponing or canceling unnecessary travel to cities affected by the epidemic.

(2) Regularly wash your hands with soap and water or alcohol sterilizers for at least 20 seconds, whether after coughing or sneezing or before and after preparing food, before eating and after using restrooms, when caring for patients, after dealing with animals or when your hands are dirty.

(3) Avoid touching the eyes, nose, or mouth with your hands.

(4) When coughing or sneezing, cover the mouth and nose with a tissue, or use the soles of the elbow to prevent droplets from dropping, then dispose of the tissue in the trash and wash your hands with soap and water.

(5) If you do not have a handkerchief, be sure to use the upper part of your sleeve, not your hands.

(6) Keeping a sufficient distance from people who have respiratory infections such as colds and coughs and avoid approaching and shaking hands.

(7) Avoid contact with stray, sick or dead animals.

(8) Make sure to cook well, especially meat and eggs, and avoid eating raw food.

(9) If you get symptoms of a cold or flu, use the mask to prevent others from getting infected.

The Ministry of Health said in a press statement the day before yesterday, that due to the increase in cases discovered in both South Korea and Iran and the monitoring of new cases in a number of countries in the region, coordination has been done with the relevant authorities to examine all travelers coming from countries that have recorded a significant increase in the outbreak of the virus and air navigation crews And marine through the various ports of the country.

While the ministry stressed that it is closely following the developments of the epidemic around the clock, it recommended the necessity of maintaining the basic preventive measures by community members, and postponing travel to China, South Korea, Iran, Singapore, Japan and Italy.

The statement of the Ministry of Health pointed out that, while the World Health Organization indicates the possibility of a wider spread of the virus and an increase in the number of countries that discover new cases of infection, following the recommended procedures can contribute effectively to contain the virus and limit its spread through the commitment of community members With general advice and adherence to the preventive procedures and guidelines that are recommended by the Ministry and show them a sense of responsibility and keenness to take information from reliable sources.
