1. Supermarket also issues protective gloves – news

Lidl Austria implements the mask requirement in the supermarket, but goes one step further. Disposable gloves are also given to customers.

“Not all demands, wishes and expectations can be met promptly in view of the global demand for protective materials,” said a press spokesman for Lidl Austria. Nevertheless, everything is done to enable customers to shop safely and thus to help contain the pandemic.

So Lidl will not only implement the mask requirement in the branches.

“Starting tomorrow, new disposable gloves for all customers that can be taken along with the delivery of the shopping trolleys are also new. Next week, disinfectants will also be available for self-disinfection of the shopping trolleys,” says the company.

Appeal must be followed

The company also endorses the appeal to only go shopping with a mouthguard – even if shopping is allowed without a mouthguard until April 6th. The use of protective measures also makes sense in all everyday situations to reduce the risk of infecting others through coughing or sneezing.

Masks are issued

As of Wednesday “we will therefore distribute the first MNS masks to customers who do not have their own mouthguard. These initial quantities are still relatively small and will be sold out quickly! Customers who do not have a mask can of course still buy from us Available amounts of masks will increase significantly until Friday, “said Lidl.

There is one mask per customer, which is “free until further notice”. The masks should be used more often and should not be thrown away, otherwise there would be further bottlenecks within a very short time, said Alessandro Wolf, CEO of Lidl Austria. The employees in the branches are all equipped with face masks and gloves, which must be worn. In addition, all employees receive additional protective visors.
