SV Guntamatic Ried no longer has the promotion in their own hands: The Innviertel had an eight point lead at the restart after the Corona break – six games and four defeats later there is a risk of falling from the top of the table in the 2nd football league. After the 1: 3 in the derby against Blau-Weiß Linz, Klagenfurt can pass on Sunday with a win at Vorwärts Steyr (10.30 a.m.).
Ried coach Gerald Baumgartner made five changes in the starting eleven compared to 2: 3 against FC Juniors OÖ, the uncertainty remained. A long pass over the defense was enough for the underdog to take the lead: Philipp Pomer left Patrick Obermüller, Filip Dmitrovic, who replaced Johannes Kreidl in goal, could not prevent the 0: 1 (22nd). Philipp Malicsek (29th) and Lukas Tursch (38th) had completely free chances to extend the lead.
Luck gave Ried an advance – and the Innviertelers paid back. Bernd Gschweidl failed twice (33., 34.), he used the third chance. Stefan Nutz flanked a free kick to the second bar, Ivan Kovacec headed off and Gschweidl equalized (39.). And before the break, the 24-year-old could have turned the game around in two ways (45th, 45th + 1).
The Rieder took the momentum into the second half – and still stood in the 56th minute 1: 2. Simon Gasperlmair flanked from the right, Aleksandar Kostic took off and Fabian Schubert slammed the ball under the crossbar. Again, all three blue-and-white players had been completely unrestricted.
It was a hit. The nervous Rieder could not get a chance to equalize, in the 85th minute Oliver Filip made the final score.
Does forward help the reeds?
The following Friday, Vorwärts is then a guest in Ried. The two title candidates in immediate succession – a local rival of all things could be decisive for Ried in the promotion race. Coach Willi Wahlmüller: “Both title contenders are nervous, as you can see in the recent results. Any loss of points can be crucial. It’s a nice job for us, we can act easily. ”
Steyr has been unbeaten for five games, and FC Juniors Oberösterreich have not lost in seven games. The team of trainer Gerald Scheiblehner can also help the Innviertel residents: After the home game in Wels against Amstetten (Saturday, 3 p.m.), the next Saturday will be a guest in Klagenfurt.
