KOMPAS.com – Governor of North Sumatra Edy Rahmayadi said the North Sumatra Food Task Force (Satgas) found 1.1 million kilograms of packaged cooking oil stockpiled in a warehouse belonging to a producer in Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra.
Edy said the Task Force had given a stern warning to the cooking oil producer.
The North Sumatra Provincial Government has also coordinated with the police so that the case can be processed legally.

The producers are then asked to immediately distribute cooking oil according to the highest retail price (HET) which is Rp. 14,000.
“The distribution process will be directly supervised by the North Sumatra Food Task Force. For this hoarding case, we have also processed this finding with the police so that it will be processed legally,” said Edy, quoted from his Instagram account.
“The point is the same with me, don’t try to play on the suffering of my people, what’s more, this is a pandemic season, everything is still difficult. So let’s use our hearts together so we don’t oppress the people,” said Edy.
As is known, people are currently having trouble finding cheap cooking oil.
In North Sumatra, for example, a mother and five of her friends had to travel from Sibolga to Medan to get cooking oil.
