Windows 10 brought users a new software package from Microsoft. With a strong focus on 3D, they wanted to make these technologies normal in this system and the production of content something natural and habitual.
In fact, this approach was unsuccessful and this software ended up being abandoned, either by users or by Microsoft itself. Still, it was not immune to security concerns. A new one has been revealed affecting Paint 3D.

It is not uncommon to discover security problems in Microsoft and Windows 10 software. This is the most widely used and as such is most exposed and scrutinized, making any situation that is revealed much more visible.
Now, according to security researchers from ZDI (Zero Day Initiative), Paint 3D has a security hole. From what is revealed, this allows attackers to execute random code on any PC, in a relatively simple way and with complicated results.
By opening a malicious file created to compromise the system, the user ends up compromising their operating system. From there, it is easy for the attacker to exploit other flaws and take control of the machine or user data.
While not a positive thing, this situation has a medium impact and should not be actively explored. In addition to requiring the user to actively open an external file, it is present in software that is not used on a massive and recurring basis.
Aware of this flaw, Microsoft has already tried to fix it in Windows 10. The solution appeared in the last Patch Tuesday and will apply to most active systems. After being revealed on February 2, 2021, the solution arrives on June 6 for everyone.
This seems to be a simple situation to solve, with the simple installation of the update that Patch Tuesday brought. So they are protected and until Microsoft removes this app completely, at least protected.
