[코로나 후유증] Unpredictable sequelae such as hair loss, lung fibrosis, and depression

It is known that 9 out of 10 people suffer from aftereffects after the new coronavirus infection (hereinafter referred to as Corona 19) was confirmed, and hair loss 3 months after the diagnosis and fatigue after 6 months mainly appeared.

Even if the confirmed patients recovered, some of the lung functions were deteriorated, and there were cases of lung fibrosis after 6 months. Psychological and mental sequelae such as depression also appeared.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on the 19th, the National Institute of Health Research and the National Medical Center are currently conducting a joint study on the clinical sequelae of corona19 patients.

The researchers conducted a check-up and questionnaire every three months for 40 adult patients hospitalized after corona19 was confirmed, and as a result of the time after recovery, the symptoms of sequelae were different. These 40 people have symptoms and ages evenly distributed.

Hair loss and shortness of breath during exercise were relatively high after 3 months after diagnosis, and fatigue tended to be relatively high after 6 months.

Lung function declined in some patients. The recovery pattern appeared over time. In lung CT observation, a significant part of the lung inflammation remained at the point of 3 months, and after 6 months, most of the lung inflammation was improved, but some lung fibrosis occurred.

Kwon Jun-wook, head of the 2nd vice president of Bang Dae-bon, explained, “The decline in lung function tended to be high in the elderly and severely ill patients over the age of 60.”

Psychiatric sequelae was mainly depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Over time, depression decreased and post-traumatic stress disorder tended to increase.

Kwon 2nd Vice Headquarters said, “There have been various investigations of sequelae, mainly in countries with considerably more cures than us, such as China, the United States, and the United Kingdom.”

“In the case of China, 76% of recovered patients complained of one or more persistent clinical symptoms, most of which were muscle weakness or sleep disturbance. In the US, the mortality rate of patients with underlying diseases increases and some persistent symptoms in recovering patients. There is a content that has been reported,” he explained.

In the future, Daebon Bang will continue to conduct multilateral analysis and long-term monitoring of symptoms and duration of sequelae for patients recovering from Corona 19.
