President Moon Jae-in visited a factory that is consigned to producing vaccines from global pharmaceutical companies, and said that there is a possibility of securing an additional 20 million in addition to the currently secured vaccine of 56 million.
In particular, he said that this contract was meaningful to receive technology transfer, and was expected to play a big role in accelerating the development of Korean vaccines.

On the first year of the outbreak of coronavirus in Korea, President Moon Jae-in visited a domestic factory that is consigned to producing vaccines for AstraZeneca and NovaVax, a global pharmaceutical company.
After reviewing the vaccine process and quality inspection process, President Moon asked for thorough preparation for fast and safe vaccination.

President Moon also announced the news of negotiations with the NovaVax.
In addition to the previously obtained 56 million vaccines, it is said that it is possible to secure a total of 76 million, up to 20 million.

In particular, President Moon said that this contract has special meaning to receive not only production but also technology transfer, and evaluated that the development of domestic vaccines could be accelerated.
It is possible to produce additional quantities separately from the existing consignment production, and through this, all vaccines produced can be supplied domestically.
The Blue House said that the technology transfer contract will be completed within this month as early as this month, and predicted that vaccines according to the technology transfer could be produced before June and as early as May.
President Moon held a video conference with Chairman Nova Bax to thank him and promised full administrative support.
