Ahead of the Korean Corona 19 vaccination, President Moon Jae-in visited the production site of the least residual vaccine syringe for our small and medium-sized business.
Looking around the production process, we emphasized technological innovation and win-win cooperation between large companies, SMEs, and the government for the success of COVID-19 prevention.

It is a’minimum residual type’, LDS syringe to be used for Korean people’s COVID-19 Pfizer vaccination.
By minimizing the amount of vaccine remaining in the syringe, you can increase from 5 injections per bottle of vaccine to 6 injections with a regular syringe.
President Moon met with officials from three Korean small and medium-sized enterprises that are leading the world in the production of LDS vaccine syringes and encouraged technological innovation to overcome Corona 19.

In particular, Poonglim Pharmatech, which President Moon visited, boldly jumped into the development of an LDS vaccine syringe with Corona 19 as an opportunity, and was recently approved by the US FDA for medical device approval.
Even after the technology development, we expected a year from prototyping to production, but we were able to shorten this period to just one month.
This is because it was selected as the’Small and Medium-Sized Win-Win Smart Factory Construction Project’ by the government and received full support from the government and Samsung Electronics for the construction of smart factories and product approval.

The government plans to use 127,000 LDS vaccine syringes, which Poonglim Pharmatech decided to provide free of charge, as well as 40 million syringes purchased from Shin-A Corporation and Doowon Meditech for vaccination of the Korean people.
President Moon said that he had secured sufficient quantities of vaccines and syringes, and prepared a vaccination plan thoroughly, and emphasized that he will surely lead to success with vaccination starting on the 26th.
