The United States has added 10 people and institutions to sanctions for violating the human rights of North Koreans.

For two days in a row, North Korea presented the eradication of Corona 19 as the achievement of the year.
The Rodong Sinmun, the official newspaper of the Workers’ Party of Korea, publicized that achieving a great victory in the anti-epidemic emergency battle to protect people’s lives and safety was a significant achievement of the year.
At the same time, he praised President Kim Jong-un’s willingness and dedication, who assumed the responsibility to protect people’s life and health to the end.
The Labor newspaper praised President Kim’s dedication to the people the day before, saying he had won a big victory in quarantine.
Therefore, the subsequent emphasis on President Kim’s quarantine results is interpreted as an attempt to appease the residents’ dissatisfaction with the control and extreme economic hardship caused by Corona 19 and increase domestic solidarity.

The US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has announced sanctions against North Korea against two individuals and eight organizations for violations of North Korean human rights.
In relation to the North Korean children’s film studio 4/26, which is already subject to sanctions for organizing illegal work, individuals and organizations who directly engaged in or assisted in financial transactions were subject to sanctions.
The US Treasury Department has also sanctioned the Border Protection Agency, which is charged with patrolling the borders between North Korea and China and North Korea and Russia.
The reason is that the agency discourages North Koreans from fleeing North Korea with strict border controls such as landmines and targeted fire orders.
The US Senate also approved a bill reauthorizing North Korea’s human rights law that extends North Korea’s human rights law, which expires in the 2022 fiscal year, for another five years until fiscal year 2027, increasing the possibility of a new authorization within the year.
