Ahead of the Busan by-election in April, controversy over the economic effect of Gadeokdo new airport arose.
Chairman Kim Jong-in’s remarks that one airport does not change Busan’s economy is that the Democratic Party has criticized him for disparaging Gadeokdo.

At the same time, he demanded that the power of the people be decided from the party’s opinion, saying that even if it was handled alone, the special law on the new airport in Gadukdo would be dealt with at the temporary National Assembly in February.
It was aimed at a situation in which the power of the people could not make clear party arguments due to the notice of Daegu and Gyeongbuk.
Ho-young Joo, who is still in Daegu, has a negative position on the special law.
