President Moon Jae-in and the CEO of Modenasa decided to sign a supply contract within the year for 20 million corona 19 vaccines via video call.
The introduction of the vaccine is expected to come in early in the second quarter of next year.
As a result, Korea has secured a vaccine for 56 million people.

“We will supply 20 million people, 40 million doses of vaccine to Korea.”
Modena CEO Stefan Bansel made a direct appointment in a phone call with President Moon Jae-in.
This is twice the amount of 20 million doses that were previously negotiated.
The supply period was also decided to go from the third quarter to the second quarter, if possible, even earlier.
The agreement on these terms is expected to be finalized before the year changes.

As a result, Korea has secured a total of 56 million people by adding 20 million people to the 36 million people in the existing vaccine volume.
The government expects the volume to increase further after the ongoing negotiations with Novavex and Pfizer are over.
In addition, Modena decided to sign a memorandum of understanding with the National Institute of Infectious Diseases to cooperate in joint response to pandemic, vaccine material development, and clinical trials.
We also decided to strengthen cooperation for the outsourced production of modders and vaccines.
